Takes 10 minutes to get a 3. Even on an ssd. Not really a big deal except there have been updates like every few days lately. But now I'm downloading 3gb update file and it has taken me more than 7 hours, what the heck. Aside from the obvious congestion issues we're getting lately and can't be solved, there is a reason why some games update slowly and others fast.

It's down to how each game structures itself. If it's loading a bit, and unpacking and arranging on the fly, it could feasibly take ages for comparitively little data. If it's just a bulk download that just unpacks in one go and I'm only summising about this process as I don't have any inside knowledge on precisely how it works after downloading, then it's going to be much quicker.

It's also the reason why some games need over double the total space of the game to download whereas others may not need quite so much, iirc. Guild of Dungeoneering is a turn-based, dungeon-crawler card-battler hybrid where you build a dungeon around the hero instead of controlling him.
